Dear Rotarians & Friends,
The month of March certainly went out with a bang with a fairly large delegation from our club attending the annual D3330 District Conference on 29-31 March in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. In addition to receiving updates from RI as well as D3330, the Awards Night was an especially memorable experience with our club receiving five awards for our accomplishments during this Rotary Year 114.
Special thanks go to our President-Elect Napa Keawtem for her diligence to implement community service projects including the donation of 10 computer stations to Hua Hin Hospital and the launch of our initiative to reduce plastic waste in the local schools, and to Treasurer Peter Wydler for acquiring the much-needed electricity generator to the local dog shelter in nearby Pran Buri. Also, PE Napa attended the Rotary Club President-Elect Training Seminar in Had Yai province on 1-3 March, to prepare herself for the Club Presidency during 2019-2020.
We are going to celebrate the 9th Anniversary of RC Royal Hua Hin on 2 April with a special fellowship evening where look forward to welcoming visiting Rotarians and friends to recognize our nine years of community service work both locally and abroad.
The Thai New Year ‘Songkran Festival’ will begin for us on 11 April when we join with our ‘mother club’ the RC Hua Hin in a special evening celebration so please mark your calendars for this annual fellowship event.
