Dear Rotarians,

We regret to inform you of the recent passing of our dear friend Rotarian Captain Richard Rees. His wife June has organized a memorial gathering to celebrate his life at S. Ken’s Bistro in Kao Tao, Hua Hin soi 101 on 1 September from 3.00 – 6.00 pm. Please register or decline your attendance through Club Runner before 31 August.

Our next social event will be at the Firehouse Bar & Grill on Tuesday 5th September. The menu will be Chicken Green Curry, Larb Moo Salad, Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Steamed Rice, BBQ Spare Ribs, Magarita, Pepperoni and Hawian Pizzas, with Fresh Fruit and Carrot Cake for dessert.

As usual, 800 THB with free flow local beer and wine, 500 for the buffet with water coke or sprite.  Please try and have the exact cash for me on the evening or you may have to wait for your change. There is a car park in the lane immediately east of the bar, dress code, smart casual, see you there!

Please join us for the handover of the football equipment that we sponsored for three schools in Pran Buri at 5:30 pm on Friday, 8 September. The equipment is stored at Nong Hoi School and is used together by the students of the schools; Nong Hoi School, Wang Phong School and Wang Yao School. The equipment includes items such as slalom poles, sprinting markers, jump fences, goal nets and uniforms for 45 children ages 10 to 14 years old. The original handover date of 25 August was postponed due to heavy rain.

Meeting place: Nong Hoi School on Petchkasem Road opposite 7-11 just south of Khao Tao.

At lunch on 12th September we have a presentation from Dr Paweena Narathong from Bangkok Hua Hin Hospital on the Neurological Problems in Aging Societies, something that is applicable to all of us in time.

Please register or decline for this lunch, 550 THB for lunch, dress code smart/casual, venue Amari Hua Hin.

The Rotaract Club of Stamford International University has invited us to attend their Marine Life Conservation event at the Sirindhorn International Environmental Park (SIEP) in Cha-am from 9:00 to 12:30 on Sunday, 24 September. Please register as soon as possible to confirm our attendance.

9:30 Lecture on proper waste disposal and a tour of the Energy for Environment Center

11:00 Release of aquatic animals

Dear Rotarians

You are invited to our club assembly, next Tuesday, 26th September at the Amari Hotel.

It is important that you attend for an update on all the projects and potential projects that our club is involved with and suporting, and to also have your say.  

As usual, it is 550 THB for the buffet lunch and dress is smart casual.  Please note that all attendees are expected to pay 550 THB, whether they eat or not. 

This is standard Rotary procedure and furthermore, we also need to supprt the hotel who is very supportive of our club but does need to see a little something in return.

On October 3rd  we return to the very popular Monsoon Valley Wine Bar for the following excellent buffet:

Starters - Potato, Tuna, Saba Fish, Fusilli Pesto and Mixed Salads, Prosciutto, Salami Napoli, Mortadella and Chorizo Cold Cuts, Edam, Vintage Cheddar, Gorgonzola and Emmental Cheeses, Freshly Baked Bread. 

Mains - Pad Kee Mao with Pork, Stir Fried Chiken with Black Pepper, Stir Fried Fish with Sweet & Sour Sauce, Steamed Rice, Live Station preparing Kao Soi Chicken and/or Spaghetti vongole.

Desserts - Chocolate Mouse, Toffee Cake, Blueberry Cheesecake, Brownie Tart, Seasonal Fruit.

Cost will be 500 THB for the buffet and soft drinks, 800 THB for the buffet and 2 hours free flow of selected House Wine and local beers.  Cash only and please bring the exact amount or you may have to wait for change, thank you.

Dress code is smart casual and attendance is limited to 60 people so please book early.  See you there!
