A small delegation from the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin consisting of President Phil Lawrence, Immediate Past President (IPP) Brian Anderson and Sec Martin Harrison attended the 3330 District Conference and Awards Day held in the Prelude Hotel, Kanchanaburi, home of the infamous Bridge over the River Kwai and final resting place of hundreds of Allied soldiers from World War II.
Arriving on Friday 17th December the presidential years of 116 and 117 were separated into two groups both enjoying a party organised by their particular year group.  117 were treated to a very pleasant cruise along the River Kwai accompanied by the usual Thai hospitality, music and food.  The highlight, however was arriving at the Bridge over the River Kwai which had been illuminated as part of the festival of lights and a fantastic firework display, representing the Allied bombing of the bridge during 1944 and 45.

Saturday saw the presentation day and following registration, the National Anthem and introduction of all the Rotary Clubs from D3330 present, several hundred awards were made during the course of the day by the 2019-20 District Governor Chalermchat Chun-In and his wife Past President Nitaya Chun-In.

RCRHH were awarded a trophy for Service Participation a certificate and several banners for 100% EREY contribution for 2018-19 and 2019-20, these being collected by P Phil Lawrence and IPP Brian
Anderson.
The day closed with a lavish  farewell ceremony which included dragons, dancers and music where the outgoing President, belatedly due to Covid -19 handed over the Presidency to the Rotary Year 117 President  Paikit Hoonpongsimanont.

The evening saw a farewell party for the  outgoing DG and was held in the gardens of the Prelude Hotel.
A good weekend and an opportunity for the RCRHH to socialise with other clubs in the district and to meet new and old friends.
