President's Message
Brian Anderson
April 2019
Dear Rotarians & Friends,
The month of March certainly went out with a bang with a fairly large delegation from our club attending the annual D3330 District Conference on 29-31 March in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. In addition to receiving updates from RI as well as D3330, the Awards Night was an especially memorable experience with our club receiving five awards for our accomplishments during this Rotary Year 114.
Rotary makes high-quality health care available to vulnerable mothers and children so they can live longer and grow stronger.
Rotary expand access to quality care, so mothers and children everywhere can have the same opportunities for a healthy future. An estimated 5.9 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, inadequate health care, and poor sanitation — all of which can be prevented.
Rotary provides education, immunizations, birth kits, and mobile health clinics. Women are taught how to prevent mother-to-infant HIV transmission, how to breast-feed, and how to protect themselves and their children from disease.
Our President-Elect Napa Keawtem attended the Rotary Club President-Elect Training Seminar in Had Yai province on 1-3 March, to prepare herself for the Club Presidency during 2019-2020.
Multi-PETS brings together all President-Elects from 344 Rotary Clubs of the four Rotary Districts in Thailand, D3330, D3340, D3350 and D3360.
Rotarians of our Environmental Preservation Sub-committee visited the students of the Hua Hin International School on 8 March, where President Brian gave a presentation entitled Humanity’s Effect on the Environment to about 90 students. The students’ ages seven to 11 years were a lively group and it was inspiring to see them engaged and interactive in a topic vital to the preservation of various ecosystem landscapes.
As so many Rotarians visit Hua Hin for their holidays or on business, it is inevitable they wish to call into the local English speaking club, especially during high season.
The Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin continue to support their local hospital in the city, the Hua Hin General. On Wednesday 27th March 2019, 17 members and guests of the club attended the Hospital to present a cheque for 150,000 THB for the purchase of 10 computers.
Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for both community service and friendship. Becoming a Rotarian connects you with a diverse group of professionals who share your drive to give back.
Our club accepts new members by invitation.
