Chan Wang Restaurant is a boutique, garden-style restaurant with a charming atmosphere and a live band that plays chill-out music. It is located in the Rama VI Army Camp between the Sirindhorn International Environmental Park Headquarters and Mrigadayavan Palace. We hope to see you there!

Please be invited to the Rotaract Club of Stamford International University’s “Passing on Opportunities to Underprivileged Children" service project at Baan Nong Krathing School in Kui Buri district of Prachuap Khirikhan province on Friday, 6 February. The university students designed this project in line with Stamford’s longstanding commitment to University Social Responsibility (USR), and is funded by the proceeds from their International Charity Night on 21 January.

The project includes several English-learning activities and sporting events with snacks and a group lunch, as well as maintenance on the school facilities. Playground and sports equipment, CCTV cameras, vegetable seeds, sport shirts and backpacks for all 59 children will be handed over as well. Our club sponsored the lunch and ice cream for the participants. We are also the sponsor of this Rotaract club chartered in 2016 and they are now in their 10^th year contributing as an effective service organization. Please register your name if you plan to attend this event and we hope to see you there!

Please be invited to our club lunch meeting where our member and long-time media partner Rotarian Richard, the director of SURF 102.5 FM will show us how radio broadcasters are using AI to generate audio as well as some other upcoming developments.

We will also celebrate our club’s 10th year of partnership with Amari Resort Hua Hin. The management and staff of Amari have always provided the best service and venue for our club’s lunch meetings and Installation Nights since 2016, and we look forward to continuing our relationship long into the future. A special lunch buffet menu and dessert will be served.

Please be invited to our club lunch meeting on 24 February where Cardiac Electrophysiologist Dr. Nitinan Chimparlee of Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin will share the latest medical information on “When an Irregular Heartbeat Signals Trouble” as well as an individual’s health risk factors and preventative measures to be taken. Dr. Nitinan emphasizes that “Because arrhythmia can be silent, annual health check-ups — especially heart screenings — are essential. Detecting it early allows treatment to start immediately, helping prevent serious complications.”

Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin has always been a great supporter of our Rotary club and their medical professionals continually present insightful, health-related information at our lunch meetings, as well as being a dedicated sponsor for our annual charity golf tournaments and other fundraising events for many years. The hospital is renowned for their top-of-the-class physicians providing state-of-the-art medical services and treatments for the stakeholders in Hua Hin. They will also talk about their ongoing resident privileges and discounts for our club members at the lunch meeting.

The 3rd of March is Makha Bucha Day, a public holiday so we will not have a fellowship night on this date.

Please be invited to observe our community service project where we are sponsoring the Lifesaving Training program at Silpakorn University from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, 7 March. Rescue professionals from the Phetkasem Hua Hin Foundation are going to provide CPR, AED and Choking Response training for 80 students, faculty and staff on the 4^th floor of the Activity & Recreation Building of the campus. Please be invited to the handover of one of our community service projects to promote education and literacy for the children at Baan Nong Krathing School at 9:00 am on 9 March. We are going to deliver a set of 160 storybooks in Thai language to augment the school’s library. The books were selected by the academics of Chulalongkorn University to promote literacy, increase vocabulary, and develop reader comprehension.

Baan Nong Krathing is a government school for 59 children in grades 1 to 8 with eight teachers, and located in a remote, undeveloped region of the Kui Buri subdistrict, about a one-hour’s drive from Bluport Shopping Mall.

“Children’s books are a powerful tool enhancing the brain development of a young child, especially their all-important language skills. Stories not only bring happiness and enjoyment, but also add new words to a child’s vocabulary, help them develop and practice their comprehension, and lay the foundation for them to understand the concept of reading.” (UNICEF Thailand, 2024)

Stamford International University, Hua Hin Campus, is honored to host the special forum “Meet with the Ambassadors” featuring five distinguished Ambassadors from the Republic of the Philippines, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Republic of Guatemala, Hungary, and Romania. The forum, under the theme of “Diplomacy and Global Leadership in a Changing World”, aims to provide students and distinguished guests in the Hua Hin and Cha-am community with the opportunity to exchange perspectives, strengthen international networks, and enhance community engagement within a global context.
