President's Message May 2019
May 2019

Dear Rotarians & Friends,

April was another great month for the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin beginning with the celebration of our 9th Year since receiving charter from Rotary International on 12 April 2010. Over 60 attendees joined the festivities to recognize our multicultural membership of 52 Rotarians of 17 nationalities. We also enjoyed an extra special fellowship night with our mother club, RC Hua Hin to bring in the Thai New Year’s Songkran holidays. It was a great evening of camaraderie between Rotarians and guests and the party included a lot of fun with the prickly heat talcum powder on your face and the ice water down your back!

We attended the "Love Hua Hin, Preserve Garden, Love Health" Project on the beach where over 500 participants helped to clean the beach, exercise and receive health check-ups organized by the Hua Hin Municipality.

Our Rotaractors of Stamford International University were quite active last month and organized a series of fundraising events in Hua Hin and nearby Cha-am city. The proceeds generated are earmarked for a co-project with RCRHH to provide all 300 students with backpacks and other necessary items and facility repairs at two Border Police Schools in Pran Buri city. The school donation event is going to take place on 10 May including a day of fun for the students.

Also, we are looking forward to attending the annual District Training Seminar in Trang, Thailand on 10 May where we will engage with the District Leadership Team and fellow Rotarians from 102 clubs in District 3330 for updates on RI and D3330 developments.

May is RI Youth Service Month and the Stamford Rotaractors are holding their annual International Charity Night on 23 May at Market Village Shopping Mall. The evening is going to include an international costume contest, food festival and entertaining shows to raise funds for the less fortunate border school development projects, so please mark your calendars for this great university student initiative.

For the highlight winding down this Rotary Year 114, we look forward to celebrating our annual Installation Dinner on 1st June to bring in our 10th year of club leadership with incoming President Napa and new Board of directors, ensuring another great Rotary year for our stakeholders.

Please take the time to peruse our monthly Club Bulletin and website for updates and you are always welcome to join us in our fellowship meetings and service activities. I look forward to seeing you there to Be the Inspiration.

Yours in Rotary,

Brian Anderson
