President's Message January 2023
January 2023

Dear fellow Rotarians,

Firstly, as President I hope that where ever you were in the world over the Christmas period you were able to spend time with your families, and loved ones in some capacity or another.

I would like to pass on my New Years greetings to you as 2022 has drawn to a close on what has been a turbulent year once again, however it has not been without its rewards through the projects we have undertaken in 2022.

January is Rotary Vocational Service Month. Vocational Service can mean many things to many people in Rotary. In Rotary Vocational Service means holding ourselves and our business to the highest ethical standards.

As the 4-way test instructs us, in all we think, say or do.
  • Is it the TRUTH
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned
  • Will it build GOOD Will and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned
As we enter 2023 which again looks to be a challenge globally I look forward to our club continuing the excellent work supporting our local communities, and communities further afield with our service projects including:
  • Water Safety
  • Free English On -Line
  • Safe Roads Saves Lives
  • Support for our local hospital E-Jan new school project.
The monies raised at the 2022 Amateur Golf Classic 1.1 million Thai Baht will go towards helping us to help others.

It was also an exciting year as our two sponsored students Dee Dee and Kwanthip successfully completed their studies and their graduation will take place this year.

Despite some losses in membership last year, our club is growing stronger, new members brings new ideas, new way’s of doing things, and making our club more diverse.

The world is changing, Rotary is changing, we as a club must insure we adapt as well.

I look forward to welcoming our new members to actively take part in our club activities, and hopefully become our new club leaders at some point.

I will spend the next few months helping our PE Helmet prepare himself for his tenure as President, and I am sure our members and the clubs’ leaders will give their support to Helmut, as they have supported me.

Yours in Rotary
Phil Lawrence
President of the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin
