President's Message October 2019
October 2019

This month’s Rotary International theme is Economic, and Community Development.

The title includes the word ‘Development’. I think there is plenty of development to do wherever we turn.

Projects that will help us connect with people in this area of focus are encouraged.

Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin has not touched on economic much, but we have been developing the local schools with Education with good education it certainly connects to good income (economic).

Rotary’s Goals:
- Building the capacity of entrepreneurs, community leaders, local organizations and community networks to support economic development in impoverished communities
- Developing opportunities for productive work
- Reducing poverty in underserved communities
- Supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to economic and community development

Fellow Rotarians, our clubs are working hard already, and I am sure new projects, will be undertaken to developing future economic for communities.

Rotary International wants us to participate to improve lives with sustainable and long-lasting projects which impact our communities.

Let us continue to Change Lives by supporting economic and community development through our service projects and by contributing to The Rotary Foundation which we have been doing for nearly a decade through Every Rotary Every Year – EREY.

During October, designated by Rotary as Economic and Community Development Month, members spotlight one of Rotary’s vital causes: growing local economies. According to the United Nations, 836 million people still live in extreme poverty.
Unemployment and underemployment, along with a lack of economic opportunity, appropriate training, and social services, lie at the core of poverty.
Rotarians worldwide are determined to reduce poverty through projects that deliver equipment, vocational training, and work to strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders.
October 24th marked World Polio Day, fortunately, year 2014 Thailand is one of the ten countries in Asia that the WHO declared Polio-free, nevertheless, we must continue to support Rotary International to eradicate this disease.

Last week our first club assembly was conducted, with the update of our club activities, projects delivered and planned projects ahead . This year we are celebrating our 10th anniversary, added 2 new members, our fundraising event – Golf Tournament is approaching.

This year is truly our Exciting Year!  My fellow Rotarians, Thank you for your support .
