Our club delegation of Past President Paul, Past President Fredy and President Brian attended the club lunch meeting of the Rotary Club of Liechtenstein in the capital city of Vaduz on 24 June. President Josef and their affable club members extended their warm Rotary greetings and their friendly hospitality was very impressive. We felt most welcome to meet with them and develop the international relationship between Thailand and Liechtenstein.
The meeting was their Installation Ceremony for the incoming club officers for Rotary year 121, and President Josef conducted the last event of the year before handing over the responsibility to President-Elect Drazen.
This was another visit by the District 3330 Thailand-Switzerland Inter Country Committee (ICC) led by Chairman Fredy, and Brian discussed Rotary in Thailand, our club, and our community service projects in the meeting. Also, Paul received his 6th Paul Harris Fellow pin from his contributions to The Rotary Foundation over the past few decades.
It was an unforgettable meeting and very good to experience the long-standing traditions of their club. Their meeting venue is the majestic Gasthof Löwen in Vaduz, which was established in the year 1380 with over 600 years of history as a focal point in the community.
The Rotary Club of Liechtenstein received its official charter in 1957 and currently has 59 members in District 2000. The journey culminated with a side-trip to Austria to meet with our club’s President-Nominee Michael for a few days of camaraderie and sight-seeing in the Alps with our honorary member Dr. Michael.
