While on a delegation visit to Rotary clubs in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, our members Past President Fredy, Past President Paul and President Brian attended a club lunch meeting with our old friends at the Rotary Club of Zürich-West on 17 June. President Benoit and the esteemed Rotarians of Zürich-West provided the warmest welcome with the best in Swiss hospitality at the Gasthaus Albisgütli Inn, a castle-like restaurant established in 1898 at the foot of the Uetliberg.
Fredy led our delegation as the chairman of the Thailand-Switzerland Inter Country Committee (ICC) in District 3330 of Rotary International, and Brian gave a presentation on Rotary in Thailand, our club, and our community service projects.
It was another memorable experience and very good to witness the traditions of their long-standing club, and now our “Friendship Club” to continue building our relationship for international fellowship and community service. We also extended our gratitude for their generous donation to our latest joint-project where we installed a new dual-lithium battery and DC/AC inverter for renewable energy storage at Ban Nern Phayom School in Bueng Nakhon.
Chartered in 1973, the Rotary Club of Zürich-West currently has 71 members and is in District 2000, which includes all the clubs in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
