Our Rotarians had the pleasure of welcoming District Governor Takrit from the Rotary Club of Phuket South for his annual visit to our club on 4 November. It is one of the governor’s many responsibilities to visit every one of the 104 clubs in our RI District 3330 for a special meeting to update club members on the district’s activities and collective goals as well as the latest information from Rotary International. Club President Brian introduced DG Takrit to our members with a pictorial overview of his life and activities with Rotary in Thailand as well as abroad.
Past President Fredy received much-deserved recognition from our club as the Rotarian of the Year in 2024-25 for his success as the chairman of District 3330’s Thailand-Switzerland Inter Country Service Committee building international relationships between Rotary clubs in Thailand, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Another special award of Rotarian of the Decade 2016-25 was bestowed upon our Past President Napa for her 10 consecutive years of leading our club’s wide range of community service projects for the underprivileged and disadvantaged in our world.
Another highlight of the meeting were presentations given by President Pichaya of the Rotaract Club of Stamford International University and President Thanita of the Rotaract Club of Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin Wangklaiganwon campus. Both presidents updated our members on their recent and upcoming service projects and fundraising events, and we look forward to our continued collaboration with them. It was also great to welcome back visiting Rotarian Boel from the Rotary Club of Stockholm International and Past President Dougie from the Rotary Club of Bangkok South.
The lucky winner of the bottle of wine for the day was Vice-President Michel who graciously handed it over to Past President Napa as a special gift. Before the lunch meeting our board of directors met with DG Takrit to discuss our club’s service projects and other activities for this Rotary Year 121.
