The DG first met the Board of Directors of the RCRHH where he informed the board that he believes that the Rotary should be about the quality of members not quantity and that clubs should look closely at the membership and it should be a good fit for your club.

The DG went onto inform the meeting about the District plans and how Covid-19 had affected many of the proposed events and that some events had to be run 4 times in different areas to reduce the numbers of attendees. The planned District Conference is for 26th and 27th March 2021.

There are also planned changes to the focus of Rotaractors and that it is recognised that the Rotaractors are the future of Rotary. Rotary is also planning to have a two-tier system for Rotaractors that can choose between a community based or Educational based. There would also be a charge for Rotaractors 8 USD for Community based programs and 5 USD a month for Educational based programs.

It has also been noted that some clubs are struggling to retain members especially where some members are stranded overseas. More use of E-Clubs will be promoted, also where significant number of members are overseas then if you have 8 plus members then you can establish a satellite club.

The DG explained that when the District planned today’s World Polio Event the target was to sell 3330 T-Shirts, which at the time was felt very ambitious. However, in the end 4,000 T-Shirts were sold whereby 55 Thai Baht was donated to the Polio fund raising 220,000 Thai Baht.

The DG was then provided an overview of the RCRHH in terms of its finance from Peter Wydler, Membership CP Alan Cooper, Youth Services Benjamas Uamsa-Ard and Service Projects Secretary, PE Phil Lawrence.

Following the meeting with the Board of Directors the 2nd club assembly took place where 20 RCRHH Members and 14 guests attended. P Brian opened the meeting with his usual collection of photos of the DG and his family and provided a brief biography of the DG’s life. The DG spoke to the assembled meeting regarding the District plans and was provided information on the TELK project by Dr Keith Humphreys, Youth Services and Lizzy’s Education fund from Benjamas Uamsa-Ard.
A raffle was held for a bottle of wine and raised 3,800 Thai Bhat and was won by one of the guests Irene Sangkhanond with the winning ticket being drawn by PP Nitaya Chun-in. (Picture left).
P Brian presented the DG with a Tie and scarf for his wife whilst the DG presented the RCRHH with a number of gifts including produce from the river Kwai and RD 3330 car window screens.
