Ten members of the Rotary Club of Royal Hua, PE Napa Keawtem, PN Peter & Rtn Gitte Iversen, Exec Sec Martin Harrison, Sec Phil Lawrence, Rtn Udai Rai, Rtn Rick & Rtn June Rees, AG Alan Cooper and headed by President Brian Anderson attended the 3330 District Training Assembly at the Thumrin Thana Hotel in Trang over the weekend of 10th-12th May 2019.

After the long journey south, by plane, train and automobile some members attended the detailed session on District Grant Management and later in the evening everyone met up with friends and colleagues from the RC of Patong Beach and headed out for the evening sampling the delights of a local Mexican restaurant.

On Saturday following registration, the Thai and Malaysian National Anthems and introduction of the many clubs present from all over D3330' RCRHH and RCoPB broke away into a separate English language training session headed by District Trainers PP Sam Fauma and PP David Arell.  Topics covered included roles and responsibilities of committees, secretary, treasurer and took a detailed look into aspects of the service, administration, fundraising and service project committees.  Following a typical Thai lunch, the session resumed covering global and district grants and a general question and answer session on any question the attendees had raised.

Later in the afternoon, the new District Governor Sakon Uengsroithon was formally installed and Martin Harrison had the honour to be the only ‘white face’ included in the guard of honour for retiring DG Lt Gen Kanit Jamuntra and his lady. This was a very moving ceremony and a fitting way to say farewell to the General who has served D3330 so well during the last 12 months.

The evening saw a huge a fellowship dinner with the dress code being Southern Thai.  There was  excellent entertainment on stage and a superb Chinese style multi course meal.

Sunday sessions, before the long return journey included Public Image and membership - new and retention.
A good eventful weekend with many useful learning points drawn out, that will enable the club to function and perform even more efficiently during the upcoming 12 months.

President Brian Anderson said ‘’The DTA was another great annual Rotary event organized by D3330, and it was impressive that RCRHH had a high turnout of 10 members joining the event with nearly 20% of our club attending. We met our incoming DG Sakon and current DG Lt Gen Kanit and the training sessions were informative while the camaraderie soared while reuniting our old and new friends in the district.’’
