On Friday 18th September the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin were pleased to donate Thai Baht 20,000 to the Jungle Aid student sponsorship fund. Currently Jungle aid sponsor 21 students from a number of border villages that they provide medical care, food donations, maintenance of facilities and educational support for.
The students currently supported come from a range of backgrounds and ages and attend various educational facilities both locally and Nationally.  Many of these children have little or no status or formal identity in Thailand as their families, who are Karen speaking, have resided in the border communities between Thailand and Myanmar for several generations.

Therefore unless a status is achieved there is little opportunity for employment outside of their village life. The villages supported by Jungle Aid include Bon (Kaeng Krachan National Park), Pala -u Noi and Pala -U Village and Bang Saphan.

The donation was presented to Emma Neve who founded Jungle Aid and Georgina Ball who manages the Jungle Aid operation operations in the Pala-U villages by Secretary, President Elect Phil Lawrence. Also in attendance were Treasurer Peter Wydler and Rotarians Danial Burns and Helmut Schepers.
Following the presentation of the donation, Immediate Past President Napa presented Emma who also founded the British Education Children’s Centre 11 years ago with Rotary Club reusable shopping bags, face masks and hand gel. The Jungle aid vehicle in the background was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin back in 2015 at a cost of Thai Baht 200,000 and is still being used today.

Jungle aid are also considering sponsoring a further 12 students at a cost of 80,000 Thai Baht.
