Rotarian Alan Brown of the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin, who is on a trip to Scotland for the Home of Golf 2019 Competition, organised by Banyan Golf Club Hua Hin, made a stop on route in Germany last week.  Whist there he visited the Rotary Club of Ingolstadt, just north of Munich in Bavaria.  The club was chartered in 1959 and has 60 members as well as a partner relationship with the RC of Kirkcaldy in the Kingdom of Fife, Scotland.

Alan attended the meeting at the Ingolstadt Golf Club with his wife Nadia and friends from Ingolstadt who took them along. The town is famous for being the headquarters of Audi, the car manufacturer employing between 40,000 & 50,000 people.

RC Ingolstadt has several ongoing project commitments based around various humanitarian opportunities.

During Alan’s visit the guest speaker Claus-Michael Hüssen, an archaeologist, talked on Roman times and The LIMES, or walls built by the Romans.  The meaning is Latin and refers to the boundaries set up by the Romans, similar to Hadrian's Wall between Scotland and England.

Alan said ‘’We were made very welcome by the President Dr Michael Gruner and all the other Rotarian members.’’

Club banners were exchanged between Alan and P Dr Michael.
