Following an invite from Rotary International District 3330 DG La-or Chinda for the Rotary Club of Ploi Ratchaburi and Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin to become Sister Clubs, on the 23rd February 10 members from our club attended a friendship meeting to exchange a memorandum of understanding between our two clubs.

The “Friendship agreement” was signed by President Thatchaya Siriwong and Phil Lawrence, and was countersigned by DG La-or Chinda.

The Rotary Club of Ploi Ratchaburi was chartered on the 29th June 2006 and currently has 52 members, the club is an all-ladies club, which truly put the emphasis on the word “Sister Club”

The RCRHH members were made to feel very welcome, and we would like to express our gratitude for the hospitality shown to us by DG La-or Chinda, the club president Thatchaya Siriwong, and of course the members and guests of their club.

The agreement was also attended by the club’s Charter President Walairat Sapkhiri who is a spritely 90-year-old who can still do the steps on the dance floor.
Our members were humbled by the personal gifts presented to us, the excellent buffet and in true Thai style karaoke where PP Napa and Rtn Thip represented our club. Being an all ladies it was great to see our members demonstrating an interesting array of dance moves.

This agreement strengthens the bond between clubs to go further in supporting our communities here in Thailand, and we look forward to participating in joint projects in the future.

Sergeant At Arms David Range threw down the challenge that our two clubs should engage in a joint project before the end of the year.

Overall, our members had a great evening, and look forward to our next get together.
