Our Rotarians inspected our latest community service project which was the construction of a new rooftop at Nun Nid’s dog shelter in Pran Buri on 22 October. A recent storm destroyed the former wooden-frame structure and we joined hands with the Rotary Club of San Francisco Greater Mission to co-sponsor the new rooftop with a welded-steel structure.
Nun Nid’s dog shelter is located in a remote, undeveloped region without access to the government electricity grid but it does have solar power and a diesel-powered generator. The operation currently provides housing, food and medical treatment for about 350 dogs and 70 cats.
This is one of our projects to support the ethical treatment of animals and special thanks to Past President Roberto and the Rotary Club of San Francisco Greater Mission for their generous support.
