Our club members that lead the Thailand-Switzerland Inter Country Committee (ICC) of Rotary International District 3330 and the Rotary Club of Oberer Zürichsee of District 2000, with the help4people foundation of Switzerland, visited the Children of the Forest School again on 18-19 March. Located at the border of Thailand and Myanmar in the remote district of Sangkhlaburi in Kanchanaburi province, the school supports about 1,000 migrant and stateless children and mothers with child protection, education and healthcare programs every day.
To augment the school’s selection of books in the library, our club sponsored the donation of 160 Thai storybooks to help the children develop their literacy and comprehension skills, and sports equipment for their daily fitness activities. Special thanks to all the Rotarians who made our contribution possible for the stakeholders.
Children of the Forest Foundation
Children of the Forest was founded in 2005 and has over 40 qualified teachers, social workers, and dedicated full-time staff that assist families to gain access to government services. Through registered school and extensive scholarships, a medical program, and mother and child protection services, they provide the necessary link to achieving a safe, self-sufficient, and fulfilling life in Thai society.
