Our Rotarians attended the 8th Annual Music and Performing Arts Festival, “Honoring the Great Kings of Thailand” at the “Seven Kings” Rajabhakti Park on Father’s Day, 5 December. The evening featured a classical music orchestra with traditional Thai dance performances for a remarkable tribute to the Great Kings of Thailand.
The Mayor of Hua Hin, Mr. Nopporn Wuttikul presided over the remembrance ceremony with Mr. Sittichai Sawat Saen, the Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khirikhan province. Incense and candles were dedicated to the Great Kings with floral garlands placed on the altar to commemorate the great kindness of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great.
A delegation from our club also attended the opening ceremony on 3 December with a musical performance by the student musicians at Ban Phet Samran. In attendance were the Mayor of Hua Hin, Mr. Nopporn Wuttikul, Mrs. Thipawan Sutat, President of the Learning Center for Local Music and Performing Arts in Hua Hin, Mrs. Prasertsri Chokkrajai, President of the Pranburi Dance Club and other distinguished guests.
This annual festival is organized by the Learning Center for Local Music and Performing Arts for cultural preservation and community engagement, with the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin as the event’s main sponsor for two nights’ accommodation and meals for the 85 youth musicians. Special thanks to our member Rotarian Super Thip as one of the dance leaders.
