We had the pleasure of welcoming the Governor of RI District 3330 Dr. Chatchawal and Past President Phanita of the Rotary Club of Samutsakhon with the Area 16 Assistant Governor Benjaporn of the Rotary Club of Pranburi for the Governor’s Annual Visit to our club on 13 February. The meeting started off with Past President Napa introducing the visitors in our traditional club spirit and we had a large crowd of nearly 50 Rotarians and guests in attendance.
President Brian gave the audience a special introduction of “DG Joe’s” life and accomplishments through an informative presentation showing photos of the governor in both leisure and Rotary action. DG Joe addressed the audience speaking about Rotary International and he had visited all 103 clubs in District 3330. He made special mention that our club is a role model in Rotary for DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion).
We conducted the new member induction of Captain Lars Erik as a transferring Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Malmo in Sweden, and DG Joe presented our club treasurer Albert with the Paul Harris Fellow pin.
A club banner exchange took place with Rotarian Henning of the Rotary Club of Sokndal in Norway and Rotarian Charles won the bottle of wine for the day. The day began early with a special meeting of the governor and our club’s board of directors to brief him on the activities of our club.
DG Joe was happy to see that our club is progressing well in our 14th year with 10 new members having been inducted in this Rotary year already, bringing the total to 65 Rotarians in our club.
