As Environmental Preservation is one of Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus, the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin sponsored the afforestation project in the International Summer School 2025 program of Silpakorn University’s Faculty of Animal Sciences and Agricultural Technology on 24 June.
Entitled “Rotary X Silpakorn: A Green Legacy”, about 100 university students and faculty members from eight countries in East and Southeast Asia planted 120 seedlings in a vacant area on the campus’s farm property in Phetchaburi province. The selection of species comprises fruit, forest cover, and ornamental trees and the project included the installation of an irrigation system with other related items to ensure survival and sustainable growth.
Also recognized as “International Trees for Tomorrow”, this is a public-private partnership between our club, Silpakorn University and the Forest Restoration Foundation of Thailand. The international program is designed for academic and cultural exchange between students from 12 universities, with classes, workshops, field trips and activities focused on the topics of animal science, crop production, fishery science, agribusiness and agriculture extension.
