The Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin conducted another 3-day session of Children’s Water Safety & Drowning Prevention training for 67 students of Ban Khao Takiab School and Ban Samorprong School on 30 July – 1 August at the Elder Blossom Community Center. The children ages 12 and 13 years were trained by 23 certified instructors from the Marine Police, Hua Hin Municipality and Hua Hin Hospital. The mayor of Hua Hin, Mr. Nopporn Wutthikul opened the event on the first morning as usual.
The children learned about floating and rescue techniques and the hospital’s medical professionals also taught CPR to enhance their knowledge and help build confidence around bodies of water. On the final day, certificates and medals were presented to all of the children for their participation. The weather was reasonable during the three days of training and then began to rain heavily just after the closing ceremony on the final day.
Special thanks to everyone involved and especially the members of our Water Safety & Drowning Prevention Committee for many days of meticulous planning and preparation to ensure the success of this event as well as three days of fun for the children.
